ZIP file (1,262,587 bytes) of an unlabelled tape in AWS format (4,527,014 bytes) containing a TAPE DUMP of a 5,582 800-byte block VM minidisk containing CMS games files.

PL/I (F) Language Reference Manual (Aug. 2009)

PDF file (6,754,065 bytes) of the IBM manual GC28-8201-2 IBM System/360 Operating System PL/I (F) Language Reference Manual downloaded from Karl Kleine's website and OCR processed to make searchable.

The 2009 pdf replaces the April 2007 (25,049,607 bytes) version which was a bit big. The size reduction was achieved by JPEG compression of the page bitmaps. While JPEG does lossy compression I can't detect any image quality degradation.

VS2 System Codes Manual (Apr. 2007)

PDF file (4,867,274 bytes) of the IBM manual GC38-1008-9 OS/VS Message Library: VS2 System Codes downloaded from the softlib website and converted to TIFF and OCR processed to make searchable.

MVS/XA Overview (May 2008)

OS/VS2 MVS Overview (Aug. 2009)

PDF file (1,932,792 bytes) of an OCR (searchable) version of the IBM Manual GC28-0984-0 OS/VS2 MVS Overview from 1978. The manual was reOCRed in 2009 and this replaces the May 2008 (1,567,954 bytes) version.

z/OS Flow (Jan. 2009)

PDF file (117,179 bytes) downloaded from IBM circa 2006. It allegedly gives the z/OS version of the system flow wall charts above, but a display of the properties indicates that it was done for MVS/ESA SP4. Mind you, probably not a lot to change since then anyway. This version has the typo of EACP fixed to read EXCP. Unlike the scans of the older posters above, this is high-quality CorelDraw output. I can find no copyright mark on it, so here it is.

PDF file (1,801,247 bytes) of an OCR (searchable) version of the IBM Manual GC26-3875-0 OS/VS2 MVS Data Management Services Guide originally from circa 1976 but updated by TNL to August 1978. This manual describes the principles of MVS nonVSAM I/O giving details on access method behaviour as well as Assembler and JCL coding requirements.

PDF file (1,400,907 bytes) of an OCR (searchable) version of the IBM Manual GC28-0627-2 OS/VS2 MVS System Programming Library: Job Management which describes readers, writers, program properties, dynamic allocation and such.

OS/VS SMP System Programmer's Guide (Dec. 2009)

PDF file (2,854,784 bytes) of an OCR (searchable) version of the IBM Manual GC28-0673-6 OS/VS System Modification Program (SMP) System Programmer's Guide which describes the formal system maintenance infrastructure before SMP/E was used.
